Management Plans are masterpieces and key tools with which
the Galapagos National Park Service administers these Natural
World Heritages with their different interrelated management
programs.
The
integrated system of zones is a technical tool that allows
management , avoiding conflicts by giving permission
for the different uses of each zone, (Information and
Technical Workshops for the Re-Creating of Zones of the
National Park of the Galapagos, June 1993). The systems
of creating zones defines the permitted uses and provides
limits for the coordinated management of natural resources
and human activity.
The
zones are an integrated system, each zone is related
to the adjacent zone. Altering the use of a zone has
repercussions for the whole system, therefore the management
of all zones must be integrated.
